The 28th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases ECCMID 2018 was held in Madrid April, 21-24. It has come to a close with record-breaking numbers: 12,949 people from 128 countries attended. The congress featured more than 150 sessions. Hot topics included antimicrobial resistance and sepsis.
Of the 5,500 abstracts were received from 116 different countries, 3,563 abstracts were presented in oral, eposter and paper poster sessions. HIV group was presented by Ene-Ly Jõgeda and Pilleriin Soodla.
KRISTI HUIK IN POSTDOC STUDIES IN USA

In February 2018, Kristi Huik started her postdoctoral studies in Dr. Frank Maldarelli’s lab (Clinical Retrovirology Section, HIV Dynamics and Replication Program) at the National Cancer Institute in the National Institutes of Health, USA. In the Maldarelli group, she will be concentrating on HIV persistence and clonal expansion.
